Do you want to know the secrets to creating a scroll stopping Facebook ad?
The world of advertising is a very busy place.
To give you an idea of just how busy, digital marketing experts estimate that most of us are exposed to around 4,000 to 10,000 advertisements each day, both on and offline.
That’s a mind-boggling number!
And it's not really a surprise that we can only recall a tiny percentage of them. The human brain is good at absorbing vast amounts of information, but there's no way we can retain everything we see or read.
Your brain is also good at screening out the stuff that it doesn't need at that moment. You may have noticed that when you're scrolling your phone, you've wised up to what constitutes an ad, meaning that you're more likely to skip over an ad when you see one if it doesn't interest you.
There's no doubt about it, ads need to stand out and ideally, your audience will need to see your ad more than once for it to be noticed.
One of the most effective strategies is to really know your ideal client and design your ad to speak directly to them. You could provide something of value or be entertaining to catch attention.
Here are some more tips:
- Think about the platform you are on, Facebook, for example, is very relaxed and informal
- Keep the copy positive, don’t use words like struggle or pain
- Don’t put too much text on an image as it will be harder to read
- Facebook is predominantly blue, so test other bright colours which are more likely to stand out
